Need something quick and easy for dinner tonight? Try this Sweet & Spicy Sausage Ramen Noodle Skillet – it’s ready in 20 minutes and it only dirties 1 dish!
Last week was SO HOT! Like in the mid to upper 90s. EVERY.DAY. And when it’s hot like that I don’t want anything to do with cooking or eating hot food. But, the husband…well, he works hard and he’s ALWAYS hungry, so, dinner has to be made…one way or another.
One night this past week, the girls were out, so it was just the husband and I for dinner. Of course, I wasn’t hungry because it was 10,000 degrees in the house, so I whipped up this new Sweet & Spicy Sausage Ramen Noodle Skillet just for him.
It was EASY. DONE IN 20 MINUTES. AND IT ONLY DIRTIED 1 STINKING DISH!
It doesn’t get any better than that, right?!
Well, unless of course, there are no dirty dishes.
Or someone else is cooking.
Or you’re on a cruise to Tahiti and someone else is cooking and also doing the dirty dishes.
Can you tell I hate dirty dishes? It’s surely my least favorite household chore. I’d rather clean the bathrooms.
But seriously…this recipe is so simple and he loved it so much, he’s actually asked for it again.
We had some leftover sweet & spicy sausages from making Sausage & Peppers awhile back, so I pulled them out of the freezer and thawed them…in the microwave, don’t tell the husband… Then, I just fried them in a skillet until all the meat was cooked through, added some Ramen and whipped up a spicy sauce to dump over the top.
It’s really that easy.
So, here’s the recipe – give it a try the next time you’re in a hurry or your husband wants dinner and you don’t!
It’ll save you a ton of time and a whole bunch of dish soap!
Sweet & Spicy Sausage Ramen Noodle Skillet Recipe
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoons chopped garlic
- 2 sweet Italian sausages
- 2 hot Italian sausages
- 3 cups water
- 1 package Ramen noodles, chicken flavored
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
- 1 bunch parsley, chopped
Pour oil into a large skillet. Add chopped garlic. Heat on medium temperature until bubbling.
Remove casing from the sausages and place the meat into the skillet with the oil and garlic.
Use a flat spatula to break apart the sausage until it looks like ground meat.
Saute the sausage for 10 to 15 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.
Pour water into the sausage. Add Ramen noodles (without the flavor package). Cook for 3 minutes.
Combine soy sauce, sriracha sauce and the Ramen flavor package in a small bowl. Pour over the Ramen and sausage in the skillet. Continue cooking for another minute or two.
Sprinkle chopped parsley over the Ramen and skillet. Serve hot.
